Robertson County commissioners on Sept. 16 approved multiple rezoning requests following presentations by planning staff and after public hearing opportunities.
Planning staff (Hunter Mantooth) presented the petitions and told the commission that the planning commission recommended approval—one item by an 8–1 vote and another by a 9–0 vote. Staff explained technical issues: in one case a 50-foot power-line easement affected setback requirements and required a change to R-40 zoning to allow the proposed lots. On the number of lots, staff confirmed the petition proposes creation of "4 new lots." Commissioners asked about the dissenting planning-commission vote and were told the commissioner did not state a reason.
Each rezoning petition was moved, seconded and approved by the county commission after questions; no members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing.
