Board honors Elkus Ranch 50th anniversary and notes new research/extension designation

Board Member Mike O’Neill noted the site was recently renamed the Elkus Ranch Research and Extension Center and said the designation is intended to support agricultural innovation in San Mateo County, “benefiting both youth and the region’s $50 million industry.” The resolution passed as part of the consent agenda after Board Member O’Neill pulled the item for brief discussion and the Board voted to adopt it.
The resolution formally recognizes the site’s anniversary and the Board commended staff and partners for programming that supports environmental and agricultural education for students across the county.
