Board hears decade-long demographic shifts: smaller white student share, growth in Hispanic and Asian enrollments

Board members discussed the implications for programming and student supports, noting the growth in ELL students and the high share of students eligible for meal programs. Durbahn also reported 29 students were identified as homeless in 2024 and said the county’s rising foreign-born population appears correlated with some of the shifts.
