Neighbors ask where bus stops and playground will be and press developer on clearing impacts

Neighbor Cathy Ames said she could not find the planned bus-stop location or the park/playground on the submitted materials and described past clearing operations at nearby developments that left ash and dust on houses.
"I live directly across the street on Knoll Road...I have not been able to locate those two spots," Ames said, asking specifically about bus stops and the park/playground.
Edie Berghof told the hearing the playground/tot-lot will be located in the center block on the Lincoln Road side (the north triangle). Jeff Sherwin said bus-pad locations have not yet been finalized with the school district and will be resolved during engineering and coordination after plat approval.
On clearing and debris, both Sherwin and engineering staff said slash piles and burning are not permitted in the city. Sherwin said contractors typically grind, haul off or reuse timber, and Washburn said the city will require a detailed erosion- and dust-control plan and will likely inspect the site frequently during grading. The city will also collect a developer or contractor contact for neighbors during preconstruction coordination.
