Board waives first readings on wide policy package, will consult NEOLA on disputed item

During the Oct. 16 meeting Trustee Sarah Ward, acting as policy chair, presented an extensive list of bylaws and policy numbers proposed for action, ranging from conflict-of-interest and leave policies to immunizations, graduation requirements and procurement provisions for federal grants. The board voted to waive the first reading and asked the secretary to enter the policies verbatim into the record.
Treasurer Roderick Means asked about the rationale for a proposed change to Policy 0131.1. Ward said a representative from NEOLA (the policy services vendor) is scheduled to meet with the board and she will seek guidance from NEOLA and report back to the full board before the Nov. 13, 2025 meeting.
