"So I believe it's 60,300 and and change for the both boards," the EMS representative told commissioners, explaining the units include integrated radar and a telescoping pan-tilt-zoom camera for remote monitoring. Commissioners asked whether the cameras could be used for citations or license-plate reading; staff said the units were not capable of issuing photo citations or aggregating plate data and would only provide aggregate speed counts.
The board voted to proceed with the purchase and authorized the chair to sign applicable documents. Commissioners also approved an out-of-state travel request for two EMS employees to attend the American Ambulance Association conference (budgeted), with a stated total cost of about $5,300 for both employees.
