Staff: potential downtown parcel for parking still under appraisal, no sale yet

Staff updated the agency that the city continues to work with a downtown property owner who has expressed interest in selling a parcel that could be used for public parking. The owner is arranging a second real-estate appraisal and coordinating with other parties, so staff said no decision will be made at this time.
"That owner is still waiting on actually trying to get someone to do a 2nd real estate appraisal, on their behalf and also, coordinating with, other folks who have real estate interest, with the family," staff said. Council members heard the update and had no additional questions; staff said they contact the owner monthly to confirm continued interest and that there was no negative reaction to the city's offer at this time.
The council did not take action and directed staff to continue outreach and to report back as negotiations progress.
