The Novi Community School District told the Board on Dec. 19 that the 6th Grade House Renovation has encountered several unforeseen conditions that have exhausted the project’s originally approved construction contingency. District and project-team representatives said final cost bulletins are being prepared and quoted work will be available by mid-January.
The project team said any additional funds needed would be drawn from owner contingency and that unused contingency at project close would revert back to owner contingency. Board members were notified the team plans to present more specific change-order and cost detail for approval at the Jan. 18, 2025 Board meeting. No formal funding transfer or motion was made at the Dec. 19 meeting; the report was informational.
