Brooke Rolog, executive director of the Madison Area Development Corporation, briefed the commission on plans to expand the industrial park and pursue plats and land sales intended to grow the city’s tax base and employment.
"One great example was we'll be next commission meeting, we'll present a new plat, another land sale, increased property tax," Rolog said, framing the development work as a revenue and job-growth strategy. She said MADC is also exploring housing options adjacent to industrial areas and continues to support the early learning center.
Rolog thanked the commission for past support and asked commissioners to continue partnering with MADC on future projects. Commissioners responded with appreciation but did not take a funding vote at the meeting; Rolog offered to answer follow-up questions by email or at future meetings.
