The Westwood Community School District Board of Education voted unanimously on Dec. 9 to enter a closed session to discuss the superintendent's evaluation at the request of Dr. Stiles Simmons. Treasurer Roderick Means moved the motion and Trustee Narabia Little seconded; the board entered closed session at 6:16 p.m.
The board returned to open session at 7:47 p.m. after a separate motion by Vice President Angela Hopkins, seconded by Trustee Narabia Little, which also passed 6-0. The evaluation and subsequent personnel action (rating and contract extension) were completed after the closed-session discussion.
