During the May 21 meeting the Board unanimously approved a multi-item consent agenda that included staffing reports and several resolutions: Joint Resolution No. 25-32 honoring La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District Superintendent Amy Wooliever on her retirement; Resolution No. 25-33 regarding Education Protection Account expenditures; Resolution No. 25-34 authorizing 2024–2025 year-end budgetary increases, revisions and transfers; Resolution No. 25-35 authorizing temporary borrowing ("bridge loans") in 2025–2026 for small districts with ADA of 901 or fewer; Joint Resolution No. 25-36 recognizing June 2025 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month; Joint Resolution No. 25-37 honoring SMCOE certificated and classified employees; and Joint Resolution No. 25-38 honoring Diane Hickman on her retirement.
The Board also approved a motion (Gerard; second Bonini) to add Board Member Edith Arias to the Board Policy Subcommittee and as the San Mateo County School Boards Association (SMCSBA) representative. For a personnel-related matter, after a motion by Board Member Beverly Gerard and a second by Board Member Chelsea Bonini, the Board adopted Resolution No. 25-91 implementing Board Policy 9250 to compensate Susan Alvaro for her absence from the May 7, 2025 meeting due to hardship; the resolution passed with six votes in favor (Arias, Bonini, Gerard, Love, O’Neill, Torres) and one recusal (Alvaro).
All formal motions and vote outcomes were recorded in the minutes; no further action was taken on these matters at this meeting.
