Newark City Council adopted Ordinance 26-12, changing the zoning classification for property described as 378 Mount Vernon Road from RH (single-family, high-density) to TFR (two-family residential).
Councilmember who moved the ordinance said the measure had been reviewed by the planning commission and that the planning director recommended passage. "As we're all aware, this has gone through the planning commission, and the planning director has sent us a letter recommending that this ordinance be passed," the councilmember said. The chair opened the public hearing and, with no members of the public indicating they wished to speak, closed the hearing before the vote. The ordinance passed on a recorded roll call of 10-0.
