Emergency-management director outlines April 2 public launch for "Grand County alerts" replacement system

Kimbreau and communications staff described a public-information campaign — town-board visits, booths at fairs and local events, temporary registration options for short-term rentals, and targeted outreach to community groups and human services clients. Commissioners asked about Summit County interoperability and testing; Kimbreau said residents could register by address and that the county will provide instructions and workshops to help sign-up. Kimbreau emphasized that the Code Red app should be removed by users because the previous vendor’s data was compromised.
