The Grand County Board of County Commissioners accepted the county's fixed‑asset report for fiscal year 2025 and approved weekly vouchers totaling $217,130.47. Finance staff presented a ledger of county capital activity and recommended releasing the payments on Feb. 25.
"This report is submitted in accordance with CRS... which mandates the maintenance of a current inventory of the county's fixed assets and capital equipment," Finance Director Bridal Bell said, and accounting staff member Kathy Henderson provided the detailed summary of additions and disposals. Henderson told commissioners that major 2025 investments included a $13,900,000 EMS station, a $1,000,000 land purchase for Windy Gap Ranch (58 acres), and a 7‑year grader lease costing about $142,000 per year. Henderson also reported trade‑in credits of $525,000 and fleet disposals that netted roughly $79,000.
On vouchers, the finance report listed large items in the packet: $48,331.45 to UMB Bank for the monthly credit card statement across departments; $39,000 to clear a payment for new election software; $38,955 for property appraisal software; and $18,982.85 to City Service for aviation fuel at Granby Airport. "I recommend paying all, and I seek your approval to release these payments tomorrow, February 25," Bridal Bell said. Commissioner motion and voice vote approved payment release.
Why it matters: the fixed‑asset inventory is a statutory requirement and helps auditors and decision‑makers track capital investments and long‑term maintenance obligations. The voucher approval moves routine expenditures through the county's accounts payable process and includes several one‑time or sizable items that commissioners asked staff to flag for the auditors and future budget planning.
