The Daviess County Council approved a series of tax abatements Tuesday, voting to grant relief for multiple businesses and tabling two items that lacked required paperwork.
In a consolidated motion moved by Council member Mike Sprinkle and seconded by Marilyn McCullough, the council approved abatements as presented for 1 WAY TECHNOLOGIES; PLIANT, LLC (personal and real); GPC (personal); WESTGATE ONE LLC; KRATOS DEFENSE & SECURITY SOLUTIONS, INC.; MAYSVILLE PROPERTIES, LLC; WESTGATE SEVEN, LLC; and RTC (Daviess-Martin County Rural Telephone). The motion passed unanimously.
Separately, the council approved an abatement for JBR RENTALS (moved by Marilyn McCullough) and for GRABER POST (real) (moved by Tom Schaffer). Council tabled the GPC (real) and NHANCED SEMICONDUCTORS, INC. abatements until the next meeting because the CF-1 forms were not received in time; the tabling motion was moved by Vice President Matt Meredith and seconded by Mike Myers.
The minutes record routine roll-call votes and a handful of abstentions on unrelated items; the motions approving abatements were recorded as passing. The council’s actions maintain that required CF-1 annual reports are needed for formal consideration; items without those filings were deferred.
