Bob Klaiber of the county engineer's office discussed the project, which converts an existing intersection to a roundabout and has an engineer’s estimate of roughly $1.52 million. Commissioner Jeff Riddell noted funding arrangements and the lack of general‑fund exposure: "which means no money from the general fund," he said, summarizing the ODOT/OPWC funding split. Construction is scheduled to be complete by Oct. 15, 2026, and the low bid from Fechko met project requirements and specified subcontractors.
The board unanimously approved the contract and authorized engineers to issue a notice to proceed once the contract is fully executed.
