Superintendent Adam Bowen told the board that the City Council approved use of Pokagon Fund money to support improvements to a city-owned softball field and that NBARA secured a $150,000 DNR Passport Grant requiring a minimum local match of $120,000. Bowen said the investment "will significantly enhance the facility and benefit our student-athletes and the broader community."
Bowen also said the district is exploring upgrades to the school-owned baseball field and that further planning and funding details are still being developed. The board was informed that the grant requires a local match and that planning conversations are ongoing; a fuller update on the Planned Unit Development will be provided March 27 by Dr. Lindley and Ed Gausselin.
