Lilburn DDA sets direction to build single two-story restaurant on Main Street assemblage

DDA Chairman Mark DeArmon presided as the Downtown Development Authority voted unanimously to set direction for the assemblage project, authorizing construction of a single two-story commercial building to be built by the DDA and occupied by one operator. The motion, made by Amy Valdez-Barker and seconded by Scott Mecredy, passed 7-0 at the June 17 regular meeting.
The board discussed design details presented in the work session, including a concept for a roughly 5,360-square-foot white-box restaurant with a covered upper-floor space and a rooftop area reserved for mechanical systems. Board members and Place Maker Design staff noted a three-foot elevation difference between the commercial site (910 feet) and the adjacent residential lots (907 feet) that will be addressed in detailed design. The DDA directed Place Maker (Tim Vaccaro) to develop further renderings and confirmed funds for engineering and construction will come from proceeds of the planned sale of 21 townhome lots.
