Langley Council adopts 2026–2028 Police Guild contract
Summary

Councilmember Harolynne Bobis moved the resolution and Councilmember Gail Fleming seconded. During discussion, Councilmember Craig Cyr asked whether the contract should explicitly reference the department’s Use of Force Policy and mutual-aid agreements. Chief of Police Tavier Wasser responded that "it isn’t necessary to include these in the contract as they are addressed in the Police Policy Manual." The motion passed unanimously.
The contract was the lead ordinance item on the agenda and carried no recorded amendments in the meeting minutes. The council’s action completes formal approval for the negotiated multi-year agreement; the minutes do not include further contract text or compensation details.
