Vineyard wins $700,000 state grant for skate park; construction targeted in two phases

Parks staff told the council Vineyard was awarded about $700,000 from the Utah Outdoor Recreation Division to build an all-wheels concrete skate park near city hall. The grant will help fund phase one of the project, which includes skate features, added parking, a restroom, landscaping, trail connectivity and utilities to support future lighting.
"Essentially we got about $700,000 grant from the Utah Outdoor Recreation Division, to go towards an all wheels concrete skate park," the parks presenter said. Staff described the park as multi-use (skateboard, rollerblade, BMX, adaptive riders), credited residents and nonprofit partners for design input, and said rough grading could happen this year with major concrete work next spring and a projected completion of core features by the end of summer 2027.
