Mayor Kennedy Horstman told the Council on Jan. 20 that Langley anticipates a new interlocal agreement governing use of lodging-tax revenue and that she would like to introduce a resolution to make the city27s lodging-tax policies and commitments more explicit.
Horstman said the goal is to set clearer expectations around lodging-tax priorities and procedures while the city negotiates an updated interlocal agreement. Councilmembers followed up with questions about the proposal; staff will provide additional details and proposed resolution language at a future meeting.
No formal resolution was introduced or adopted at the Jan. 20 meeting; the item was a preliminary policy discussion and staff follow-up was requested.
