Langley swears in three newly elected council members

Mayor Kennedy Horstman opened the Langley City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday and presided as newly elected council members were sworn in.
The oath of office was administered in open session. Clerk Kristen Abraham led the oath text, which the council confirmed by recitation: "Do solemnly affirm that I will support the constitution of The United States." The ceremony covered Langley city council positions 1, 2 and 5.
The new members joined returning councilors and staff for a brief welcome from Mayor Horstman. The swearing-in completed the formal transition at the start of the council’s term and paved the way for regular business later in the meeting.
