Senate advances batches of bills on first and second consideration

Leader Johnson moved on the floor that groups of Senate bills be advanced under Senate rules and the state constitution, and the presiding officer announced the motions carried without objection. "Proper notice having been given, I move that pursuant to senate rule 32 in article 2, section 18 of the constitution of the state of Tennessee, senate bill 16 94 through 17 o 4 and 17 o 6 through 18 24 be passed on 1st consideration," Leader Johnson said during the motion on first consideration.
The leader made a separate, similar motion under Senate Rule 33 for a second set of bills on second consideration: "Proper notice having been given, I move the pursuant to senate rule 33 in article 2 section 18 of the constitution of the state of Tennessee, senate bill 16 44 through 16 75 and 16 77 through 16 93 pass 2nd consideration." The presiding officer announced the motions were carried "without objection," and the clerk recorded the resulting referrals or holdings on the clerk's desk. No individual roll-call votes were recorded on the floor for those grouped motions during this session.
