A representative from Cornerstone Management gave a midyear recap to the council about operations at Temperance Lake Ridge, emphasizing improvements in staffing, electronic records and billing practices.
"We're back up to 95%. We have 3 open units," the presenter said, summarizing occupancy and noting the property had 56 units with 53 occupied as of two weeks prior. The presenter credited new leadership and a new electronic health-record system (ECP) that allows staff to chart tasks and track acuity more precisely.
Cornerstone said billing interruptions tied to a lapsed license and a provider-enrollment (LP) number reset delayed public-pay reimbursements. The presenter estimated about $200,000 in public-pay funds were delayed but said rebilling had been completed and the company expected those payments in the coming weeks. Council members noted aging receivables, with one resident account of roughly $43,000 cited during Q&A.
The presenter said the company removed ambiguous charges during a resident-by-resident review and has reduced reliance on temporary nursing staff now that hiring is complete; Cornerstone reported 34 hires this year and reduced turnover. The company also offered to conduct deeper financial reviews with city administrators on a monthly or quarterly basis and provided a sample management agreement for council review.
