Nicole, the Chamber Executive Director, gave the council an annual update on Chamber and Creative District activities, focusing on visitor services, business support and arts programming. She said the Chamber operates the visitor center year‑round, runs promotional events that boost overnight stays, and helped secure the state's five‑year recertification for the Creative District.
"Langley Mystery Weekend, which brought about, approximately 3,000 visitors, last February," Nicole said, and described steps to spread crowds across several park and village locations and to add hospitality spots so local businesses can capture more visitor spending. Nicole noted the Chamber managed about a $240,000 budget last year, said funding sources are shrinking, and asked the council to consider filling steering‑committee seats and volunteer board roles to sustain programming.
