Board President Hugo Torres said the retreat’s primary goals are aligning the team’s work, building stronger support for one another and fostering collaboration, noting the board is a new team and the retreat should help them establish working practices.
Board Member Chelsea Bonini asked who would attend and whether there would be a facilitator; Torres indicated they are looking into an outside facilitator with experience working with county boards. Board Member Susan Alvaro recommended keeping the agenda intentionally small to allow time for meaningful dialogue. Torres suggested exploring a self-evaluation process as a possible follow-up to the retreat.
