New EMS station 60% complete; project under budget and supported by grants

Project Manager Jeff Hickam told the board the new EMS station is approximately 60% complete, with exterior and interior framing finished, insulation in place, solar panels installed and drywall nearly finished in the administrative areas. "We are approximately 60% complete with the building now," Hickam said (Jeff Hickam, Speaker 5).
The project remains under budget and is tracking a month ahead of schedule; current estimates place final completion between September and November 2026. Hickam summarized the grant funding status: DOLA reimbursements and a Connected Care grant have delivered more than $1.2 million to date and Freeport-McMoRan funding will cover furniture, fixtures and equipment.
