Pullman mayor outlines summer events, air-quality guidance and Lentil Festival schedule

He advised residents to check airnow.gov or the city's official channels before attending outdoor events this month because activities can be canceled if air quality reaches unhealthy levels: "If the air quality is in the unhealthy range of a 151 or above, the activity will likely be canceled." The mayor listed upcoming events including a community table on Saturday, Sept. 12 on Kamiakin Street, the 2026 Walk of Fame induction at the Pullman Depot Heritage Center on Thursday, Aug. 20, and the Lentil Festival on Saturday, Aug. 22 at Rainy Park. Pullman Transit will run a free Lentil Festival shuttle every 20 minutes between 11 a.m. and 10:15 p.m.
He also reminded residents the Rainy Park pool season ends Aug. 23 and that the parks and rec center will close for maintenance Aug. 24–28.
