The city secretary read the proposed City of Deer Park FY 2026–27 budget during the council meeting on Aug. 4, 2026. The reading included line items and fund totals, and stated that the proposed budget would raise more property tax revenue than the previous year by $634,036, an increase of 2.1% based on Harris County appraisal values.
Key figures read into the record included: "The total budget for revenue is $102,675,394" and "The total budget for expenditures is $102,660,221." After the notice and figures were presented, the council opened the hearing, issued three calls for public testimony and—hearing none—closed the hearing and took no further public comment during that agenda item.
