On the Treasurer's recommendation the board approved a renewal with MinuteMen HR for workers' compensation services under the 2027 Group Retrospective Rating Program for $2,300, accepted a $5,000 donation from the Tusky VFW and a $100 donation from the Dennison Rotary toward the Claymont High School digital board, and approved a Then & Now certificate. "BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the Claymont City School District prohibits unauthorized ransomware payments," the resolution states and cites Ohio Revised Code 9.64; the motion passed by roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
The measures were bundled in the Treasurer's recommendations and approved on a single roll-call vote. The resolution formally bars any employee, officer, or agent of the district from authorizing or making ransomware payments unless the board expressly approves such action by formal resolution, aligning district policy with Ohio Revised Code 9.64.
Board members did not expand on operational procedures at the meeting; the items will appear in the certified minutes and the district's posted meeting video for public review.
