On Jan. 12 the Claymont City Board of Education approved a package of superintendent-recommended personnel actions. The board approved Aubrey Somers as an early 2026 graduate of Claymont High School and approved an unpaid leave for Alexis Stallman effective Feb. 24 through Apr. 21, 2026.
The board also approved the hiring of Samual Schafer as a full‑time preferred substitute custodian at $15 per hour effective Jan. 6, 2026, approved Brandy Bishop as a certified ELA substitute at $90 per day retroactive to Jan. 5–9, 2026, and approved a partial mentor year‑one supplemental payment of $498 for Ian Meiser. Pending credentialing, the board approved a list of classified substitutes that included Theodore "Buddy" White.
