The council moved through nominations to narrow applicants for Raymore's Charter Commission at the Aug. 3 work session. Ward 1 nominations were Tabitha Baker and Brian Mills; Ward 2 nominations were Michelle Parker and Joseph Burke III; Ward 3 nominations were Todd Kras and Michael Wilson; and Ward 4 nominees after a withdrawal were Cary Morgan and Jim Haddock.
Mr. Fierborn said staff will notify all applicants of their status and ask finalists whether they still wish to serve. He told the council the finalists will be presented in resolution form at the Aug. 24 regular council meeting and that the Charter Commission's first meeting is scheduled for two weeks later at 6:00 p.m. in the council chamber and will be streamed like other boards and commissions. Councilors asked whether the commission meetings are open; staff confirmed they are open and streamed.
