Raymore parks board changes shelter and field rental rules; senior open gym added

Williams told the council the parks and recreation changes were vetted by the park board and approved April 28. She said staff are removing prime and nonprime distinctions for shelter rentals and athletic fields while preserving resident/nonresident distinctions for some youth sports fields.
The Raymore Activity Center open-gym pass will change from 10 visits for $20 to a $25 pass. Williams said the city is also adding a free open-gym option for senior citizens during normal business hours and introducing a sportsmanship coaching program. Park Legacy program additions include honor bricks, donor-wall plaques, a tributary recognition, and memorial benches.
