Sierra Santa Fe wins Centre Street bid; city seeks grants for roundabout and crosswalk beacons

Adam Lyons told the council that the Centre Street project bid opened May 18 and that Sierra Santa Fe was the winning bidder. Lyons said the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) approved additional funds so the contractor can repair the road properly prior to chip sealing.
Lyons reported he has submitted a grant application to Rural Community Small Projects to fund preliminary work and studies for a potential roundabout at Centre St. and Binghampton St. and for flashing beacons and crosswalk improvements at Centre St. and Minnesota St.; those grants will be awarded on Nov. 6, 2026. Lyons also said he is preparing a proposal to repair Well 6 so it can be fully operational again.
