County staff told the council that acquiring the remaining right-of-way parcels is necessary to extend Village Boulevard and connect to the Mid Valley Highway. Nathan Harris said the purchase from 6 Mile Ranch is for $641,000 and will allow the county to move quickly toward construction once engineering is complete and funding is in place.
Harris then presented the companion purchase from C & J War Family Properties, LC for $588,250; that contract includes fencing and additional access points to accommodate agricultural operations. County manager Andy Welch said engineering has already started and reminded council the county previously applied for a $1 million COG grant that will cover part of the acquisition and engineering costs. Both contracts were approved by voice vote.
