The district's operations update summarized staffing, facilities and food‑service activity ahead of the new school year. Operations staff reported HR processed more than 400 hires since May 1, benefits processed roughly 96 retirements and the district processed nearly 3,000 transfers. Food and nutrition services reported serving over 227,000 meals this summer at more than 70 sites.
Facilities work included more than 287,000 square feet of flooring replacement and nearly 500,000 square feet of roofing work across multiple schools (examples named in the update included Bayshore Elementary, Palmetto High School, Miller and others). Operations staff said Rye Ranch and Veterans schools had staff and teachers move in the previous weekend and are finishing punch‑list work ahead of student arrival next week. Deputy Superintendent and operations presenters thanked custodians, maintenance crews and contractors for the summer work.
