Finance staff: 'Time to send our audit out to bid again' and form audit review committee

Staff told the finance committee that the municipal audit needs to be reissued and recommended assembling a small committee to review and score proposals. "So it is time to send our audit out to bid again," said the staff member leading the presentation, adding that the committee would score RFPs and help choose the auditor for the next two to three years.
Committee members agreed a committee should include at least one councilor and discussed possible members; one member pointed to past practice, saying Jean Petty had served previously on the finance review. The group reached consensus to package the audit committee role with the RFP and to publish the RFP promptly so scoring could occur when proposals are received. The committee did not record a formal motion on the public transcript; staff indicated they would prepare the RFP package and return with a proposed committee roster at a later meeting.
