Junior-high art teacher seeks council OK for student silent auction to benefit Rangely Hospital

Miss Navarro, a junior-high art teacher, told the Rangely Town Council the school's students had made pottery to display in a silent auction she hopes to hold in the council lobby March 11 through March 25. "We just want to announce that hopefully we can do a silent auction in your lobby," she said, and added that all proceeds would go to cancer causes and to Rangely Hospital.
Council members asked for and received flyers; Miss Navarro said she would forward the flyer to the council for posting. She requested two lobby tables for the display; the council's staff offered to advertise the event on the town Facebook page. The council did not object to the request and thanked the students for participating.
The teacher said the display would give the community several weeks to view and place bids. The council's town staff said they would make sure the flyers were distributed and posted. No formal vote was required for the informational request.
