District court clerk says budgets kept to 3% increases, flags computer and jury line items

Stevie, clerk of the district court, told commissioners she kept district court and child support budgets within the 3% overall increase limit, allocating most of that to staff raises.
"Neither of my budgets did I go over last year, so I literally just stuck to the 3%." Stevie said she increased salaries by 3% for employees and allocated remaining amounts to line items that went over last year, including jury costs. She described a jury line item that had run over (about $13,000 over last year) and a conservative increase to the budget for that line.
Stevie also said the office is mindful of computer hardware life'cycles (noting two county computers dated 2020 and 2022) and requested ability to replace equipment if necessary. She noted recurring federal quarterly reimbursements average roughly $20,000 a year that flow into the general fund and cover some county work. The board had no further questions and thanked her for the presentation.
