New pavilion complete; resident urges stronger park-maintenance standards after poor paint job and leftover equipment

At the second public-comment period (agenda items only), a resident who attends park-and-rec meetings criticized the paint job on storage sheds, called it "a horrible paint job," and said equipment such as a batter's cage is being left on the field. The resident asked the board to put stronger maintenance requirements into user agreements so the grounds are fully maintained year-round; the board asked whether the resident had raised the matter with the parks board and the resident said they had repeated the concern but saw no enforcement.
Board members thanked the commenter and noted the pavilion naming and acceptance will be taken up at the Aug. 17 meeting. Staff said picnic tables will be placed under the pavilion as time permits and that naming considerations would be discussed with the funding entity.
