La Verne reports 48 active construction sites, 437 reinspections last year

During the annual MS4 presentation, Alex Thompson said the city currently has 48 active construction sites (land-disturbance permits) and reviewed 17 site plans in the reporting year. He said each permitted lot is inspected monthly and any failures trigger a reinspection schedule.
Thompson highlighted enforcement and follow-up: "When we go out to a construction site, we go every month, every single lot, every single permitted site gets looked at once a month. And if they fail, they have to get a reinspection..." He reported 437 reinspections last year, a sign of continued compliance work.
Thompson also explained permanent stormwater controls are tracked and inspected; 10 land-disturbance permits were closed during the permit cycle and two permanent control structures are currently out of compliance and being handled through the acceptance process. He recommended continued attention to maintenance as new subdivisions add more ponds and structures.
