NICE Community School District holds organizational meeting; officers elected and bylaws approved

The NICE Community School District Board of Education held its organizational meeting electronically on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026. Superintendent Bryan DeAugustine called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.; five members were present and two were absent.
Board members completed the required organizational business for 2026. Scott Mann nominated Crystal LaFreniere for board president and Kathleen Carlson nominated Scott Mann for vice president; both nominations were closed and accepted by unanimous vote of those present. Kathleen Carlson also moved to approve the district’s bylaws (NEOLA Policy Manual, Section 0000). The board set its regular monthly meetings for the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the WHS Media Center (except November 2026), designated Nicolet Bank as the district depository, authorized specified administrators to sign checks and initiate electronic transfers, delegated election duties to the Superintendent or designee, and voted to retain Thrun Law Firm as the board’s attorney for 2026.
There were no public comments, and the meeting adjourned at 5:08 p.m.
