West Milwaukee police see retirement of assistant chief, internal promotions and summer enforcement boost

Chic said two officers are currently in field training (expected to finish in August and October), after which the department will be fully staffed. He also reported operational updates: K9 Kane is undergoing narcotics training, and a Department of Transportation (DOT) grant is active for the summer to fund additional patrols focused on speed enforcement, OWI and seat-belt compliance. Chic announced community outreach events: Dunkin' Donuts Cop on a Rooftop on Aug. 14 and National Night Out at the Middle School on Aug. 21.
