At the end of the work session council moved to convene a closed session under Virginia Code — 2.2-3711(A)(3),(5) and (7) to discuss acquisition of real property for a public purpose in the Fox Hill and downtown Hampton areas, to discuss a prospective business or expansion where no prior announcement has been made, and to consult with legal counsel about actual or probable litigation. The clerk read the required motion language and a member moved and another seconded the motion; the clerk then conducted a roll-call vote with each present council member recorded as voting "Aye." The motion passed unanimously.
The council scheduled the closed-session meeting in the Lawson Conference Room for 03:25, as announced during the meeting.
