Bernadine Doggett, representing Goodwill, told the council the Goodwill Community Employment Center at 1911 Seville Row will open to the public on February 27, with a grand opening planned for April. "We will have late afternoon hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays till 6PM and hopefully serve the community by providing on-site GED, some job readiness skills training," she said.
Doggett described existing training at the site, including an apartment-maintenance program and HVAC training delivered in collaboration with Thomas Nelson Community College. City staff and Goodwill said the center will be another local access point for the workforce initiative's partners to reach jobseekers with skills training and placement services.
