Library reports strong turnout for spring programs, including first author festival

City Librarian Jennifer Baker highlighted a run of successful spring programming during the April 14 meeting of the Benicia City Board of Library Trustees, citing several recent events and attendance figures.
Baker said the library’s Lucha Libre event drew “somewhere in the neighborhood of I forget what we decided, it was between 5 and 600 people.” She also said No'Rooz attendance was about 150 people and that the library ran its first local author festival with 57 authors in attendance.
Trustees praised the program turnout and said the events were well received by the community. Baker noted staff will debrief some events to identify improvements but said she expects the author festival to become an annual event.
