Architects to finalize proposal for possible library basement addition after council consent

Baker said the architects “should have to us by I wanna say it was the 2nd week of May” their completed proposal; if the city pursues the project it would be treated as a capital project and likely return to the council for budget and scheduling decisions, not as part of the regular budget process. Baker cautioned that council workload may delay consideration until July or later.
Baker also noted furniture and lighting purchases are being funded from leftover finance-budget allocations rather than through the regular capital budget; the basement addition would follow separate capital-review steps if advanced.
