A council member questioned whether home‑occupation inspections still required a business license and whether the $100 fee assumed four hours of work at $25 per hour. Public‑works/finance staff (Brett) said the city requires business licenses when customers come to a site and that the fee updates were based on a review of the last two years of actuals plus the FY26 budget to better reflect staff time and salary/benefit costs. City staff said the updates aim to avoid subsidizing development review with general taxes.
A council member moved to approve the resolution; a roll‑call vote carried the motion unanimously. Staff will implement the revised fee schedule and include the changes in billing and permit guidance.
