The City Manager told council the next council meeting packet will include a contract for a skate‑park mural, consideration of council subcommittees and policy discussion on landscaping and playground maintenance agreements with HOAs and private property owners. He also said the legislative committee is seeking comments on a county bill to ban gas leaf blowers, with a comment deadline of Aug. 11.
On other matters, the City Manager reported the city received a $250,000 grant to conduct a feasibility study to decarbonize municipal buildings and that staff is preparing a contract to start the work. He also said Recreation will propose pool‑rate adjustments through a resolution at the Aug. 10 meeting. "Item number 11 is the contract related to the Greenbelt skate park mural project," the City Manager said.
Council members asked staff to schedule topics that require advance preparation (for example, inviting the new school superintendent and assembling questions in advance for State Highway Administration discussions). The manager and council agreed items would be added to future agendas and that staff would share additional details ahead of work sessions.
