Board approves several athletic coaching hires and a paraprofessional

The Los Molinos Unified School District board approved a slate of employment appointments during its Nov. 21 meeting. The approved hires listed in the minutes are Iris Farias Barrera (LME SDC Paraprofessional), Randy Gilbert (Los Molinos High School Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach), Kyle Button (Los Molinos High School Boys JV Basketball Head Coach), Cory Fox (LMHS Boys Varsity Assistant Coach) and Gary Merlo (LMHS Boys JV Assistant Coach). The motion to approve the employment list was moved by Melissa Peters and seconded by Lidia Mekhail; the minutes record the action as carried 7-0.
Earlier in the meeting the board amended the agenda at the request of Board President Barbara Morgan to add the explicit approval of Cory Fox and Gary Merlo to the agenda; that amendment was moved by Melissa Peters and seconded by Krista Andersen and also carried 7-0. The hires will be reflected in district personnel records and the board will consider routine follow-up items at the Dec. 19 meeting.
